This biodynamically grown Xinomavro is a serious hidden gem from Greece that recalls the stylish grace of Burgundian Pinot Noir and the vivid freshness of Barolo's Nebbiolo. Harvest at the Thymiopoulos Vineyards took place long after the average Naoussa harvesting period -what's common technique- as much as two weeks later. Apostolos Thymiopoulos follows the tradition of Naoussa, yet adds a very modern touch. Without losing any of the oldest PDO zone of Greece characteristics, he delivers a wine, which has a deep ruby color with intense strawberry nose and blending earthy mushroom notes. Medium bodied with sleekly, fine tannin. Minerality adds interest to long lasting spicy and refreshing aftertaste. Better decant it before enjoying and and watch it unfold it's highly complex character.
